Well, I arranged a surprise for myself. I was getting to the Sydney airplane but I couldn't because I forgot to apply the transit visa ahead and there I was without the visa!
Even though I have had the transit visa the lady in her red scarf told me that I should have the normal visa instead because the operator of the flight isn't the same as the next flight after that. Oh me, oh my, too tight!! đŻ
Well I had enough battery and the wi-fi and the helpful (at least understanding) staff at the airport. So the next couple of hours I settled down and planned my next move with great interest. The counter desk staff recommend for example to book the flight from another carrier, so there is a difference between the practices the carriers have.
Soon I was just laughing! Like, you are on the other side of the world, "lost", trying to fix it up by your own. Great!! đ
I should take a picture of myself sitting on the carpet floor having your pens and papers, phone and a water bottle...
Before this trip my best friend Mari was imagining how I would been buzzing around the Australian airport like you could see them doing that in the tv. Well, no need to worry that anymore. I'm not stepping to their precious lands...
So what choices did I have? Almost every flight to Fiji is going via Australia. Hmmmm... Ok, I could apply for the visa but I had something else in my mind. How about Singapore, is not far away. Doesn't need a visa from Finnish tourist.
The story behind Singapore:
from two airport's security check's floor I found a coin from Singapore. Then there was a girl in Couchsurfing happening from Singapore. One woman sleeping in the same room in Nara was from Singapore. I gave her the Singaporean coins by the way. In the airplane to Kuala Lumpur they were talking something about free fly to Singapore. So, what else? Here I am! đ
I spent the night at the airport. I wasn't the only one. There was people sleeping in chairs, on the floor, actually everywhere. I didn't sleep much, my time went on planning my schedule while I still had the wi-fi.
All in all, in the middle of the night I managed to cancel the Sydney-Fiji flight via chat, book the next flight from the internet, check-in online, have my ticket printed at the airport, go through the security check (where the black scarfed woman took my barely cutting tiny scissors away), go to the right gate and found a plug to charge my phone. I also booked the next hostel. Still I was sceptic about the flight until I arrived to Singapore!
By the way, it's +30 here... đ
I could do the check-in already at noon when I arrived to the hostel by bus. Just resting at the hostel the rest of the day. They have the air condition in the rooms.
Last night I found a straigh flight to Fiji from here so I'll book that one to catch my rest flights. No hurries no worries! I'm doing just fine đ
(when I just have the wi-fi)
In the last pictures you can see "a luku", it's kind of fruit, the boy behind the desk have me few. Tastes like a grape fruit but sweeter. Nice!
So... Trick or Treat?!? đ»
